POST: Principal Communication Officer (Captain)
LOCATION: Communication Services, Provincial Office, Bellville & Kimberley
LEVEL OF REMUNERATION: Band C: R370 908 per annum
REFERENCES: DPCI/WC/234/2021 (1 Post)
Core Functions:
- Managing of media activities, compilation and co-ordination of press releases, monitoring of media reports and analysis and coordinating of Provincial Media Liaison;
- Develop standardised policies in support of corporate identity in the Directorate for Priority Investigation(DPCI);
- To institutionalise a Corporate Identity for all DPCI buildings;
- Monitor the use of the DPCIlogo;
- Manage communication campaigns for theDPCI;
- Provide a range of community outreach programmes aimed at promoting community awareness of and involvement in departmental programmes, activities andevents;
- Provideexhibition services for the SAPS, national and provincial shows in other government departments and organizations on invitation;
- Develop and maintain on-going relationships with key role-players in DPCIprogrammes;
- Manage social responsibility programmes for theDPCI;
- Supervise and exercise control over human, physical and financial resources allocated to the

General:

Generic Requirements:
- Applicant must display competency in the post-specific functions of the post;

- Be in possession of a Senior Certificate (Grade 12) and a relevant (to the post) three (3) year Degree/Diploma registered on the National Learner Record Database on at least a NQF 6level;
- Be proficient in at least two (2) official languages, of which one (1) must be
- Must be a South African
- Must have no previous criminal/departmental convictions or criminal or departmental cases pending;
- Be in possession of at least a valid light motor vehicle driver’slicence;
- Must not have tattoos which will be visible when wearing summeruniform;
