Applications are invited for the above mentioned position to be based in Springs . This sucessful individual will report to the Engineering Specialist.
Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:
- Operate the boiler – stop, start bank, clean, operational checks and stripping.
- Start/stop steam supply to plant.
- General artisan aid duties as requested by foreman.
- Cleaning, maintaining and greasing of general machine components and Boiler house area.
- Makes running adjustments to the machine and execute minor repairs.
- Carries out maintenance checks on equipment.
The successful candidate must have the following Qualification and experience/skills:
- Minimum Grade 12 qualification
- John Thompson Operator certificate or equivalent.

- Familiar with the latest John Thompson Micropac panel
- 1-2 years relevant experience in operating a boiler and executing basic maintenance on boiler.
- Be able to work in a technical environment. (Basic tool handling skills).
- Should be organised and excellent at repairing basic facility items
- Filling in forms, reading pressure gauges and ability to interpret graphs and updating the Boiler log book.
- Ability to initiate action without being urged on to do so.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision.
- To reflect good corporate citizenship behaviour towards colleagues, superior and company values
- The successful candidate will be required to work shifts.
Note: It will be required of the successful candidate to be in possession of all basic tools.
