Housekeeper - Exclusive Guesthouse

We are currently looking for a qualified young and enthusiastic HOUSEKEEPER to join the team as they launch. The guesthouse is located on the side of Northcliff Hill with magnificent views to the North over the suburbs, and up onto the veld and rocky outcrops to the South. The Guesthouse comprises of 5 rooms and will therefore give extra attention to all guest requirements and needs.

General Job Description

• Cleaning of rooms, toilets, lounges etc after and during guest stays
• Making up of beds, changing linen
• Cleaning of all public areas
• Ensuring the public areas are neat, clean and in order at all times
• Machine and hand laundry washing and ironing
• Be ready to share property’s history and general information
• Attending to guests, assessing their needs and asking questions if necessary
• Hosting, great, welcome and show guests their room, the facilities and grounds when necessary.
• Help with carrying luggage if needed

• Clean, fill & maintain coffee & tea station
• Ensure bar and room fridges are always stocked correctly
• Manage stock, storage and packaging of food, beverages and cleaning materials
• Generating a shopping list as needed
• Basic food preparation for breakfast chef

As ideal candidate you will have:

• Grade 12 Qualification
• Certificate/Diploma in Housekeeping
• Experience in housekeeping including, cleaning, maintenance, laundry, ironing etc.
• At least 2 years previous experience from 5-star hotel or guesthouse will be a great advantage
• Basic computer skills
• Able to deal with guest complaints in a constructive way
• Familiar and able to work with smart phone application
