Calling all fashionistas! We have a fabulous job opportunity in Cape Town for a talented business unit director at a boutique PR/communications agency. We’re looking for a dynamic BUD with an excellent client service track record to head up their Contemporary Fashion Retail brand portfolio. While you don’t necessarily have to come from a PR agency, a strong understanding of PR is a must.
As such, you should have proven skills in conceptualising innovative PR/Communication strategies, production and fulfilment of customer experiences and campaigns. The successful candidate will be skilled in the management of their team to deliver outstanding results. An in depth understanding of the beauty and lifestyle sector is imperative. We require a big thinker who loves out of the box ideas and is digitally fluent with a global mindset. The strategic direction of solutions that include media, sponsorships, activations, KOL’s, Influencers and collaborations is also necessary. Responsibilities
- Effective client strategy development and successful presentation thereof
- On-going strategic direction, re-steering and guidance across scope/s of client portfolio and team
- Ongoing self-development in terms of industry trends, innovations and competitor activity so as to deliver unique strategies to own client portfolio
- Management and reporting on team performance vs client KPI’s
- Development and management of KPI’s for each team member
- Management of all client campaigns from end to end
- Development and management of partnerships with 3rd party brands, influencers, collaborators and supply partners as required
- Drive process improvements and ways of working across all team responsibilities
- Assume managerial responsibility for any additional ad hoc projects and queries as reasonably required
- Plan, host and direct client and supply partner meetings
- Check and sign off on all communication going to client from team
- Proactive and reactive communication with clients, including weekly status meetings and Friday roundups
- Contribute to and oversee the creation, distribution and follow-up of all content
- Management and development of media relations
- Edit and proof check all content developed by team
- Building of all presentations and convincing delivery of same to clients
- Conceptualisation, management and fulfilment of all customer experiences as per the seasonal plan
- Management of all client budgets
- Sourcing of supply partner quotes and submission of CE request to finance
- Profitability of portfolio
- Management of all legal requirements and documents associated with campaign contributors, services and collateral
- Management of all campaign critical paths and timelines
- Checking of all reports developed by team
- Completion of analysis and insights sections
- Sign off, of all monthly reporting
- Timeous distribution of monthly reports to client.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have/be:
- Relevant tertiary qualification
- Eight to ten years of fashion/consumer/retail PR experience
- Ability to create and drive integrated PR and below the line campaigns
- Senior level media/digital relationships required
- Outstanding client services/relationship management skills
- Two to three years of team management experience
- ‘Can do’ attitude with the ability to gracefully manage both up and down
- Hands-on
- Hardworking, loyal and trustworthy
- No ego/sense of self-importance
- Proficient in designing presentations
- Creative eye with a good understanding of design
- Able to work long hours when required.
