The purpose of this role is to manage all Food, Packaging, Capex and Indirects procurement categories for Rest of Sub-Saharan Africa (RoSSA), to ensure most optimal total cost. RoSSA currently has 200+ Restaurants in 21 countries. We are the leading international QSR (Quick Service Restaurants) on the continent with future growth in builds to come from expansion in RoSSA.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic thinking:
- Develop and maintain category strategies per sub-category to ensure lowest cost and top performance over the short term and into the long term
- Lead cost engineering initiatives to reduce/maintain capex and balance with opex to ensure most optimal total cost
- Perform medium to long term planning with suppliers to align their growth to that of KFC
- Supply chain risks analysis and mitigation for short, medium and long-term
- Provide input into overall supply chain strategies and plans, including logistics, planning, and quality

Management:
- Develop and maintain a KPI scorecard system to track the performance of the categories and the category management team
- Developing existing and new suppliers’ capabilities, and capacity, to ensure a top performing supply chain
- Developing and building capability within Franchisee supply chain teams, by providing category management and strategic sourcing leadership, training and consultation
Execution:
- Partner with Franchisee Supply Chain teams in execution the category plans and goal results for categories
- Benchmarking suppliers/categories, on an ongoing basis, to ensure optimal cost and performance
- Lead sourcing events
- Implement appropriate supplier management practices across the supply base - which include audits, management reviews, performance and risk management
- Maintain good franchisee and supplier relationships
- Ensure compliance to governance requirements at all times
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree is Supply Chain/ Procurement/ Commerce
- CIPS
Experience:
- Min 8 - 10 Years’ Supply Chain related experience
- Hands-on experience in Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and Total Cost to Serve (TCS)
- Possess excellent negotiating skills, obtained from strategic or complex negotiations
- Experience in strategic sourcing including understanding technical product complexities, supplier or product cost drivers and other factors that influence pricing
- Working experience in East and/or West Africa
- Superior market data analytic skills
- Bias for technology
- Retail and/or FMCG experience
