With branches in Durban, Port Elizabeth, Cape Town and Johannesburg, Alnet is the manufacturer of synthetic textiles, netting and cordage, providing a wide range of products tailor-made for the Retail, Building & Construction, Fishing, Aquaculture, Agricultural and Industrial sectors. Alnet is looking for two committed, suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill the Security Officer position; successful candidates will be based in our Cape Town branch.

Daily tasks will include but will not be limited to:

  • Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees and visitors to guard against theft
  • Monitor the signing of the staff attendance and visitors register on a daily basis

  • Patrol Alnet’s premises
  • Searching staff and vehicles upon leaving the company’s premises
  • Reacting to emergencies as per security guidelines
  • Monitoring security systems such as surveillance, alarms etc.
  • Escort visitors or drive motor vehicle to specified locations or to provide personal protection
  • Reporting on daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences

The requirements are as follows:

  • Grade 12
  • Minimum of 3 years proven work experience as a Security Officer
  • Must be trained as a Security Officer and must be registered with PSIRA (Grade B)
  • Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols

  • Must be able to operate security systems and emergency equipment
  • Must be able to work shifts and overtime in line with operational requirements
  • Must be able to conduct work in an honest, ethical and professional manner.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English and other South African languages
  • Must be assertive
  • Must be able to follow company set of procedures and routine
  • Must be able to work comfortably with diverse groups of people and across all levels
  • Must be adaptable and flexible
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment
