What will you do?
This is a specialist position that reports directly to Team Leader: Medical Underwriting. The role is accountable for the assessment and execution of a compliant and effective medical underwriting function in support of mainly sales from a medical underwriting perspective, but it includes support to claims and service functions.
Key responsibilities include;
- Assess and execute medical underwriting to support;
- Telephonic support for sales
- Review of referred underwriting quotes;
- Facilitating communication of medical declines to clients;
- QC/QA referrals
- Client policy amendments with underwriting changes/impact (Servicing)
- Claims process
What will make you successful in this role?
Qualification and experience
- Grade 12 or preferably business or commerce degree/diploma
- Experience in financial distribution services/sales/call centre environment
- Experience in processing of new business in a life insurance
- 2-3 years underwriting experience
- Nursing or medical background experience
