What will you do?

This is a specialist position that reports directly to Team Leader: Medical Underwriting. The role is accountable for the assessment and execution of a compliant and effective medical underwriting function in support of mainly sales from a medical underwriting perspective, but it includes support to claims and service functions.

Key responsibilities include;

  • Assess and execute medical underwriting to support;
  • Telephonic support for sales
  • Review of referred underwriting quotes;
  • Facilitating communication of medical declines to clients;
  • QC/QA referrals
  • Client policy amendments with underwriting changes/impact (Servicing)
  • Claims process

 

What will make you successful in this role?

Qualification and experience

  • Grade 12 or preferably business or commerce degree/diploma
  • Experience in financial distribution services/sales/call centre environment
  • Experience in processing of new business in a life insurance
  • 2-3 years underwriting experience
  • Nursing or medical background experience
