Senior Quantitative Analyst - E-Merge IT Recruitment

An opportunity has presented itself at a leading blue-chip firm in the financial sector. This team is currently in the infant stages of developing, testing and deploying Machine Learning models, which provides innumerable challenges, be it with regards the detail modelling approaches itself, the validation, interpretation of those, or the system deployment of such models. The vision for a person joining this team should be to gain the most possible in terms of acquiring knowledge, of all aspects of modelling within the business, including the governance processes and limitations that this often brings. After a certain period of time, the person would be equipped to move into any specific Business area to apply the acquired knowledge.

Requirements:

• Relevant degree in mathematics/statistics/quantitative analysis/engineering
• You need to be intrigued with the theoretical and technical aspects of modelling, be it Logistic Regression, Machine Learning, Time Series, Clustering or any other Multivariate/Big Data analyses.
• Skill and ability in the above areas will enable the candidate to fulfil the role of support that they provide to all Retail Business units, since they are a central services area, not a Business unit as such.
• They do produce, to a great extent, the Credit granting, Capital and IFRS9 models for the Overdrafts, Current Accounts and Student Loan portfolios, which now fall within the Unsecured Lending space. 
• They are also involved in the production of Fraud and Collections models, although more in a supportive capacity.
• The benefit of being in a central services area is the exposure that one gets to all Retail Business units, i.e. Home Loans, Vehicle Finance, Personal Loans, Credit Cards and the remaining Revolving products.
