Job Description: Responsibilities & Requirements


Lactalis South Africa is part of the French international dairy company Lactalis and is one of the major players in the Southern African dairy industry. It has operations in South Africa, Zambia, Botswana, Swaziland and Mozambique. Join Lactalis at our offices in Port Elizabeth as a Millwright with the main responsibility to do day to day inspections and basic maintenance tasks on utilities plants and equipment. Successful candidates need to be a qualified Millwright with 3 years relevant experience. Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the day to day, planned, scheduled, breakdowns and shutdown maintenance of the processing and filling and packing especially robotic palletisers & automated coveyers.

  • Complete maintenance schedules on or before required dates
  • Complete preventative maintenance schedules and make use of data to improve preventative-maintenance
  • Feedback on job cards and machine history to be accurate and on time
  • Maintain a two-way communication with department managers and supervisors
  • Provide training to machine operators in order to service machines during normal production runs
  • Ensure that tools are clean and in working order
  • Adhere at all times to the quality and hygiene standards of the plant
  • Comply with Occupational Health and Safety regulations
  • All maintenance must be done via Pragma system
  • Do fault-finding on PLC systems
  • Adhere to NOSA and ISO 22000 implementation procedures.

 

Required Skills

  • At least 3 years’ experience in the FMCG production environment as a Millwright
  • Experience on pneumatic and hydraulic systems and equipment
  • Proven PLC knowledge to facilitate fault finding
  • Self-motivator with good planning and organising skills
  • Must be willing to work shifts, weekends, public holidays and overtime if required
  • Person must be able to work in a hot dusty & cold wet environment.
  • Must be able to work under pressure.
