The Receptionist is responsible for maintaining a calm and efficient environment for fielding phone calls, answering patient questions, scheduling new and follow-up appointments, registering new patients, and updating records.
- Experience in general practice management.
- Attending to patients telephonically and personally in a care-centered manner.
- Efficient diary and appointment management.
- Deal with emergencies efficiently and proactively.
- Obtain patient’s information as per data required and capture timorously.
- Facilitate positive and easy patient flow.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and professional reception area.
- Creating a holistically positive and pleasant patient experience at all times.
- Respond to patients, prospective patients, and visitor inquiries efficiently.
- Stocktaking and inventory control.

- Comfortable with EMR Office management (cleaning, maintenance, etc.)
- In-room consultation billing and receipting.
- Assessing and improving patient flow in the practice
- Establishing and maintaining an effective filing system
- Maintaining medical records
Job Requirements:
Work Experience
- Minimum 2 years of previous experience in reception work in a medical practice preferable.
- Knowledge of SAMA, CPT rules, and NHRPL Billing codes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills essential.
- Highly professional.
- Good computer literacy skills – MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Typing skills and competence in electronic data entry.
- Experience with eLive software
- Good organisational skills and ability to work independently.
- Knowledge of ICD 10 coding and procedure codes.
- Proficient in English (written and spoken).
- Knowledge of data protection and confidentiality

- Post Matric level certificate/diploma minimum (beneficial).
- Advanced Certificate ICD10 Coding - Beneficial
