Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) has an opportunity for a Chief Procurement Officer. The role will be reporting directly to the Group Supply Chain Director and will be based at the Head Office in Port Elizabeth. The successful incumbent will oversee the Procurement function throughout the CCBA organization, including functional management of Country Procurement Managers. The role will be responsible for establishing strategic leadership by managing the Procurement organization, ensuring that all sourcing strategies are successfully executed and fully implemented. Coca-Cola Beverages Africa is the largest African Coca-Cola bottler, accounting for forty percent of all Coca-Cola volumes on the continent. CCBA is a market leader in the NARTD (non-alcoholic ready to drink market) in Africa. CCBA has an extensive footprint in Africa, employing over 15 000 employees.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Strategic Business and Procurement alignment (Procurement Strategic Management) Establishing, developing and directing Procurement vision, strategic targets and “Ways of Working” in conjunction with the business’ short, medium and long-term goals and plans. Providing support for the business to deliver their business plans and targets.

Representing CCBA on the Global Shareholder Procurement Leadership. Developing category strategies for CCBA categories in alignment with the Global Shareholder category teams and Internal Stakeholder requirements.
- Drive Procurement performance efficiency and capacity optimization Defining, tracking and managing Key Performance Indicators (KPI) in CCBA per country and communicate to appropriate stakeholders. Holding accountability for Service Level Agreements between Global Shareholder Partners, CCBA Group Procurement, Country Procurement and the Internal Stakeholders of the business. Developing and monitoring the Procurement’s budget and overseeing the financial well-being thereof by analysing cost-effectiveness. Driving efficiency improvement for procurement transactions (i.e. Digitalization, e-sourcing) Benchmarking related industries as per Procurement Excellence
- Manage key internal stakeholders and business representatives Developing value capture strategic plans and targets in line with business requirements. Ensuring business needs are being represented and incorporated into category strategies. Building and enhancing key customer relationships to ensure customer satisfaction within the business and the countries.
- Support key sourcing initiatives and management of selected key suppliers Supporting major strategic sourcing activities within CCBA. Leading supplier development activities for key regional and local suppliers aligned with the global shareholder teams and strategy, lead cross-functional review meetings with suppliers to improve performance and further reduce cost. Driving localisation of supply and Supplier Transformation (South Africa) Developing and leading partnership with key strategic suppliers to explore additional value creation for CCBA.
- Procurement Finance Management and Administration Tracking trends in terms of commodities and monitor currency impact and inflation per country to ensure actual costs incurred are in line with the approved budget. Updating CCBA ExCom regularly on Commodity Situation and execute aligned Hedging decision Developing budget guidelines and the 3-year cost forecast per country/commodity.
- Drive High-Performance Capability and Lead Procurement Function Development Defining the Procurement functional capabilities, design and deploy relevant capability building programs in line with priorities agreed with key business partners. Developing and providing frameworks to leverage capability building in strategically and operationally important areas within Procurement. Communicating performance expectations and proactively address issues related to performance. Leading and driving the procurement team within CCBA in alignment with the global shareholder partners and in accordance with the CCBA management principles, to support the organisation’s overall leadership focus on performance and talent management, values, management and self-management practices

Skills, Experience & Education
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a related field with a preferred post-graduate in Supply Chain /Finance /Engineering.
Added advantage: Master's degree in Business Management/Engineering/Supply Chain/Finance.
Experience: 12+ years of leadership experience in both strategic, operational and international corporate environments Experience within a variety of Procurement roles within an FMCG environment in Africa
